About Us:

Hello, thank you for stopping by our store. My name is Neslihan and I am the founder of Earthic. The idea for Earthic came about from an awareness, personal experience and a tragedy. I have had an awareness of how our choices and habits impact our health and our environment for a very long time, since my university years. Events in my life have increased this awareness throughout the years.

In 2016, my beloved father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. While my siblings and I were scouring every resource we could find about natural remedies, in the hope of improving & prolonging our father’s health and life, I came across a video of a Turkish Professor of Oncology talking about the fact that our homes and environment are full of materials or properties that have toxic effects on our health. Everything from our furniture to our home accessories, our kitchenware, our cleaning and personal care products, our wardrobes and of course what we eat and drink. In short, he was telling us that we are not only what we eat, but also what we touch, smell or wear.

So while, for long years, I was already conscious of the importance of choosing natural, healthy alternatives for food, drink and cleaning or personal care products, I realized how important it is to also be conscious of what we put on our bodies and in our homes to use, sit, walk or lie on.

During my research and discussion with family into the idea of starting a conscious brand, I came across many great companies that had started the journey before me (and I hope to become great like them one day : ) ) and learnt more about eco-consciousness and sustainability. My idea grew from not simply offering products made of healthy, non-toxic materials, but also ensuring the production process itself and the delivery elements, such as packaging, also make a positive impact, not a negative one, on the wellbeing of the people who use them and our environment.

Though the advancement in modern technological development might have its benefits, the negative impact of mass production, mass consumerism and globalisation is evident. Scientific research shows that technological advancement in mass production has led to the increase in the usage of synthetic fibres, toxic chemicals, unsustainable and dangerous processes and also the exploitation of the underprivileged.

I believe we need to rethink our consumer habits and start taking the steps to live more responsibly by making conscious choices. We need to do this not only for our own wellbeing, but for future generations and for our wonderful planet.

With these ideas in mind, I have started out on this wonderful journey, of finding products from around the world that are beautiful, timeless, simple, eco-friendly, and safe for you and your family. I have started with products that I have been familiar with for some time, and know are produced in ways that meet Earthic’s criteria, namely cultural, ethical, pure and hope to continue to add to the range.
